Christos has 35 years of experience in Investment Banking at UBS Investment Bank and predecessor organisations. Christos gained substantial international experience based out of London and Paris from 1986 to 1996 in government and corporate finance advisory and capital markets roles. In 1997, he established and ran the very successful Greek team of UBS Investment Bank and the European Emerging Markets (CEE) and Turkish teams (2004 to 2013).

Christos managed client relationships at Chairman, CEO and Ministerial level. He ran teams that conceived and executed many landmark advisory and capital market transactions in a variety of sectors and jurisdictions in the private and public sectors.

In 2013, Christos was nominated Chairman of the General Council of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF), the Fund that was capitalised with €50 billion through one of the support programmes for Greece and tasked to recapitalise and eventually reprivatize the banking sector. He served in this position until March 2015. During his term, he oversaw two rounds of successful bank recaps, raising a total of €11.5 billion, limiting the contribution of the HFSF to the necessary recaps to €25 billion, eventually enabling the return of €12 billion to the State. He supervised the negotiation of restructuring plans with DG Comp, the implementation of a framework for monitoring banks’ performance and governance and a complete management overhaul at Eurobank prior to its substantial re-privatization. During this period, Christos was a member of the Financial Stability Committee.

Christos holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Economics from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Following 9 years as a Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Christos is now a Senior Advisor to ALPHACAP Partners.
